El Paso Skyline
Got a call from my buddy back home last friday night
Been awhile since we'd caught up, guess the time was finally right.
We talked about our jobs, and out kids, and our wives,
And our crazy busy lives.
I said, how's my baby sister. Haven't seen her in awhile.
Have you met that boy she's dating? I hear he's a little wild.
He said, naw he's fine,
But if he steps out of line, man, you know who to call.
And brother I miss you, let's talk again soon.
Got me thinking about that El Paso skyline,
And that sea of lights burning brighter than the stars tonight
There's a long road behind me, 1000 miles of memories
But I left my hometown roots, so I could learn to find my wings
I remember the night we climbed that water tower
And ended up running form the cops.
In that rusted up, brown Chevy truck
With the bumper busted off
Yeah we were bulletproof and we never knew
How much we pushed our luck,
Or where we'd all end up
And it gets me thinking about that El Paso skyline,
And that sea of lights burning brighter than the stars tonight
There's a long road behind me, 1000 miles of memories
But I left my hometown roots, so I could learn to find my wings
Some days I miss my friends and my family
And that house on Daugherty rd.
I miss Friday nights,
football lights, and my high school blue and gold
And that star on the mountain seems to call me back home.
And it gets me thinking about that El Paso skyline,
And that sea of lights burning brighter than the stars tonight
There's a long road behind me, 1000 miles of memories
But I left my hometown roots, so I could learn to find my wings
