Houses in My Head

There's a house on the corner
That is all painted blue
With a whole bunch of stories
That reach to the sky
The curtains are closed
The doors are all locked
You won't get an answer
Even if you knock
The people living there
They keep to themselves they
Don't stir up any trouble and
They don't ask any questions and
Next door there's a red house
With a Trans Am in the drive
The lawn's immaculate
But nobody is ever outside
Broken plates, infamy
Nightly cacophony
Listen close you will hear
The sound of arguing and
Across the street there's a yellow house
With flamingos on the lawn
A peace flag and every night is fondue night
Pink and purple on the door
A big white shag is on the floor
Dogs are playing poker
And the cat's name is "Spot" and

I've tried to reconcile these houses in my head
Three pigs, three bears, a wolf, a stranger in my bed
In my bed

The red man says to the yellow man
"I don't like the way you look
I'll burn your place down
I'll burn this whole place right to the ground"
The blue man looks out his window
But he doesn't do a thing
He just shakes his head and
Wonders what is happening, and
Outside the backdoor
Stretching to infinity
Is a hundred billion houses
My head just won't stop spinning and

I've tried to reconcile these houses in my head
Three pigs, three bears, a wolf, a stranger in my bed
In my bed
