Life @ 55

Life at Fifty Five is a puzzling question mark
Look at me all grown up still afraid of the dark
Many of you listening might know what I mean
Chronologically we are old but we still feel seventeen
Fifty Five down the road
Fifty Five I'm getting old
Fifty Five the speed I drive
Fifty Five I'm alive
Life at Fifty Five is a perplexing mystery
There are lines on my face where a child used to be
I look at the pictures of the person I had been
My limbs are more brittle every day & the bark is wearing thin
Fifty Five down the road
Fifty Five I'm getting old
Fifty Five the speed I drive
Fifty Five I'm alive
Life at Fifty Five not what I thought it'd be
I was sure I'd be a millionaire or famous to some degree
Here I am a person who values love and trust and bliss
So here's to us and another year sealed with a kiss
Fifty Five down the road
Fifty Five I'm getting old
Fifty Five the speed I drive
Fifty Five I'm aliveFifty Five down the road
Fifty Five I'm getting old
Fifty Five the speed I drive
Fifty Five I'm alive
