It's the Blues

"Spoken:
'S all about a trip that me and George
Smith took to Oakland, California. They said:
"Fellas, when you get up there, we're gonna have everything for you.
Have your rooms, everything you need.
All you gotta do is just get up there."
When we got up there we found out that they were sleepin' three guys
to one room. Had to put me on the box spring,
George on a mattress, Bill Clarke was over by the heater.
Duh, we weren't alone in there either.
George had to beat the mattress and the box springs with a stick to
get all the fleas outa them.
We didn't get much sleep,
but we got this song, called: It's the Blues!"

Travelin' down this ole highway
I'm tryin' to stay alive
I don't know where I'm sleepin'
Or if my money ___ ___

Ole George is smokin' Pall Mall
He tellin' me all about his live
There's been a whole lot of things wrong
He just talk about what's right

Oh, it's the blues
Yeah, it's the blues
Yes, boy, it's the blues

I see the stage is lit
The band is doin' their thing
I pop a note on my guitar
I'm makin' rhythm for the king

Ole George, he play harmonica
I see the women on their knees
But when this night is over
It's me an' George an' the fleas

Yeah, that's the blues
Oh, it's the blues
Yes, boy, it's the blues

Now, when the road you're up
It can play on your mind
I have a few bits of George
Which all compare sometime

Ole George, he like a teacher
He got his masters in dues
He say, "You just keep on steppin'
'Cause you can sure play some blues"

Yeah, that's the blues
Oh, it's the blues
It's the blues

"Doug MacLeod: Hey George
George Smith: Yes, Dubb
DM: You feel like playin' us somethin'
GS: I feel like blowin' you some blues
DM: We sure like to hear some
GS: Alright, here we go"
