Diving In

Now I can walk across this bridge
Or I could jump off the side and swim
And I'm diving in
And I dive, in

So I dove in head first, I don't know what's worse
Going through the pain or the aftermath of being left hurt
Thrown out in the surf, having to come to terms
That I'm drifting further away because we couldn't make it work
But as far as I go, I'm still thinking
It won't sink in, that it's over now
But I know, I'm done holding on
And I'm sinking, further down

All I can see is blue light far above me
Surrounded by nothing but darkness
And I can't feel anything under my feet
But I keep holding my breath until you say you love me
But I'm drowning now and I'm too far down to reach
I guess I was in too deep

It's kind of funny how the tide rolls in
Kind of like you do every now and then
Seeing my reflection in the water like I've found a friend

So stupid just to go through this again
Vision of blue, carried along like dust in the wind
Nothing to do, no one to lend a helping hand
No land in sight and I've swam as far as I can, and
