The Note

I found your note today it was sitting there on the table
It said, "The time has come for me to say goodbye
Although I know you changed all those little things I hated
I can't ask for you in turn to live a lie"
I thought we spent each day like we were laughing up in heaven
When I turned around I see you with a frown
I set to swim across the deepest of the oceans
But as the tide rose, You stood there and watched me drown

Don't turn away
And though you're body is older now
You left it all behind in search of what is now

You can take away my pride and these fleeting thoughts of suicide
When you step outside, you're blinded by the light
You can say what you will but with the bleeding of the heart you killed
You can fill you glass and drink until you die

Don't turn away
And though you're body is older now
You left it all behind in search of what is now

And all those words you're saying, cannot be denied
And in your mind you're saying, everything is right
It's over now, it was such a waste of time

You can do it all again with the greeting of the innocent
I'm sure the line is long for those who wish to dine
Keep in mind, you can never tell
Too many times upon the well
Splits the gut of those who drink their blood as wine

Don't turn away
And though you're body is older now
You left it all behind in search of what is now

And all those words you're saying, cannot be denied
And in your mind you're saying, everything is right
It's over now, it was such a waste of time

Pictures of our friends wasting the time away have all gone by
Keeping with my thoughts, taking the time to dream; all my own

And the visions of the new day are just strewn across the sky
Leaving all the flowers in the garden there to die
Giving me your answer, you don't know why

Ahhhhhhh
Ahhhhhhh
I found your note today it was sitting there on the table
It said, "The time has come for me to say goodbye"
