The Musical

When I turned 18, I planned on nothing less than
Total reinvention
So I started growing my hair out long
Growing my hair out long
Now one year later, I can feel my commitment wavering
Just wanna prove I can pull through on something
Pull through on anything, oh

Then I"ll hit 20, holding steady
Screaming high school songs in the back of the car park
Can't hit the high notes, but I'm learning to
Sit better in my flaws, and in 10 years
Our adolescent heartache won't mean a thing
But until then, we'll keep the choir singing

To the tune of every song we sung when we were 17
I'd like to say I'm more poetic now
But most of my songs are still about a girl
Who probably doesn't think of me, and honestly
Why should she? Oh, why should she?
Why should she?

Now, I'm responsible for all my actions
All these flawed chain reactions in my brain
Probably won't go away, so I'll just move on to better days
Better headaches, and better headaches
