Everyday Is a Holiday

Christmas in Michigan
My memories take me back again
The gifts were few; we didn't care
What mattered most was being there
And through the years, the holidays
From birthdays to colored eggs
We'd throw a sheet upon our head
Trick or Treat is what we said

We did them all with little money
I look back and find it funny
Tooth Fairy, Santa, Easter Bunny
That childhood excitement fades away
But, since I've got the Good News; every day is a holiday

It was more that just a moment to me
The story of the virgin birth, to His death on Calvary's tree
And like He said, He rose from the dead, came back upon day three
The price He paid, to wash my sins away
Now every day is a holiday

Come let us celebrate the greatest gift of all
Everything changed in those moments there in time
A new birth, a living hope, salvation can be mine
A resurrection, a perfect sacrifice
It's a gift that can give us all new life

It was more that just a moment to me
The story of the virgin birth, to His death on Calvary's tree
And like He said, rose from the dead, came back upon day three
The price he paid, to wash my sins away
Now everyday is a holiday

When I was boy, my favorite holiday had Christ right there in its name

I didn't know then, but I know it know
And Lord I celebrate

'cause everyday is a holiday.
