Love Me for a Reason (Live)
Girl, when you hold me
How you control me
You bend and you fold me
Anyway you please
It must be easy for you
The loving things that you do
Just a pastime for you
I could never be
And I never know, girl
If I should stay or go (or go away)
'Cause the games that you play (that you play)
Keep driving me away
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love
Kisses and caresses
Are only minor tests, babe
But love lead to stresses
Between a woman and a man (between a woman and a man)
So if love everlasting
Isn't what you're asking
I'll have to pass, girl
I'm proud to take a stand
I can't continue guessing
Because it's only messing (it's only messing)
With my pride (with my pride) and my mind (and my mind)
So write now it's time to tell you
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love
I'm just a little old-fashioned
It takes more than a physical attraction (attraction)
My initial reaction is, honey, give me love (I'm in love)
Not a facsimile of
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love
Don't love me for fun, girl
Let me be the one, girl
Love me for a reason
Let the reason be love
They started it all
Yeah, they started it all
I remember a long time ago
My brothers and I, when we did our, our first show together
It was 1847 was the year we ah-
All of you know I come from a very large family
27 children, ah no, I, I'm the seventh of nine
And uh, I was born in a little town in the state of Utah, Northern Utah
My Dad had this little insurance agency and
He's also the postmaster in that town
So needless to say, my folks didn't have a lot of money growing up
In fact what my mother would do
She go out would buy all this material
And she would make outfits for all of us
So, we all looked alike, it was a lot cheaper that way, you know
So like I said they didn't have a lot of money
But what they did have, they gave to us
So we could realized our dreams of
Wanting to be in show business
I wrote this next song about 13 years ago
And shortly after I finished it, unfortunately I lost my mom
A couple of year after that, my dad also passed away
So this song has become at least to me
Kinda like a theme song about my parents
It's called, "Whenever You're In Trouble"
How you control me
You bend and you fold me
Anyway you please
It must be easy for you
The loving things that you do
Just a pastime for you

And I never know, girl
