The Autumning Fall
Trotting through this yellow field, a background of faded auburn trees
October's here with its floating leaves and Halloween
We go around to view a new constellation overhead
The kids all pretend to smoke cigarettes and hope for snow
But oh say love, they're calling for the lies to know you
The foliage is falling down
The winds of change are tugging on me to turn back and find a new way
Can you feel the autumn air in your lungs
It's out with the old. Making plans for making room
Room for the new greenery scheduled for spring at the restart, again
The flowers and leaves are calling it quits
I'm trading sand for snow and warm for cold
And a tank for a winter coat
Strip it down to fill it out, let it die
So come May we come, come may we come to life
Spin around a star holding clocks keeping watch
On how much more we'll become dizzy
But oh say love, they're calling for the lies to know you
The foliage is falling down
The winds of change are tugging on me to turn back and find a new way
Can you feel the autumn air in your lungs
It's out with the old. Making plans for making room
Room for the new greenery scheduled for spring at the restart, again
The flowers and leaves are now soundly in bed
Tucked in so tightly
Their eye doors are weighing so heavy now
The foliage is falling down
Can you feel the autumn air in your lungs
It's out with the old. Making plans for making room
Room for the new greenery scheduled for spring at the restart again
October's here with its floating leaves and Halloween
