Time Stops

I see your hair, it's just a style
You wear it there, for a while
I try to see and walk a mile
Shoes too tight, but I just smile
I listen to you, to what you just said
I roll it around in my head
I try to make sense, to figure it out
I give you the benefit of the doubt

We were exposed to some belief
We took it on just like a thief
It shaped our world like a map in relief
It made us happy, then sad, then angry, then full of grief

I start again in some new place
I see someone with a new face
My hand reaches out, I give a nod
I hope for the best, though I feel odd
One cannot deny that we have a view
Though I may not see what you just knew
We act some way and it shows through

Passing through this life, there is a way
To be Light in the way we play

I go out again, perhaps find a friend
