Grab Life by the Dreams

Sometimes the road seems much too hard
Filled with bumps and cracks and turns
You sometimes drift on seas of change
When winds blow hard and waters churn
You reach a point where all seems lost
Your future's just a downward slide
That's the point to change your course
And trust that compass deep inside

You can always change a look or strike a brand new pose
You can always graduate to poetry from prose
You don't have to settle or limit grander schemes
Just learn to trust yourself and grab life by the dreams

You can always make a whole new beginning
Where things go right and you end up winning
Dreams aren't just some fuzzy reflection
There more like a map of your bold new direction

Henry Ford said you're always right
If you think you can or think you can't
Invest yourself in what might be
Or spend yourself in useless rant
Do something or do nothing at all
No matter what, you always choose
But when you turn away from dreams
