Constellations

The wind in the palm trees
And the smell of the beach
The sand-colored houses
On every street
This place is a resort
Of the last kind
With actors abound
Rehearsing their lines

When was the last time
You looked up at the sky
Polluted with light
No constellations here
And what ever happened
To all those late nights
We stared at the stars
And dreamed of the future

I'm so disappointed
My friends are not my friends
At one point I loved you
But now you're just like them
Perpetual sadness
Covered up with green
And all of the children
Will never be the same

When was the last time
You looked up at the sky
Polluted with light
No constellations here
And what ever happened
To all those late nights
We stared at the stars
And dreamed of the future
