Writer's Block Remedy

Monday around two o'clock, still early afternoon
I'm working through this writer's block, alone here in my room
Searching for something to say, to tap into myself
Attention drawn to the bottle sitting there on the shelf
A fifth of Jameson staring at me half full
Promising to bring about ideas if I take a pull
I hesitate, the temptation is risky
Considering the slippery slope of a swig of whiskey
Took off the cap and threw back a bunch of gulps
My tummy didn't like it, but I quickly felt results
Like loosened inhibitions, and free intuition
My mind was on a mission to bring it all to fruition
Getting shitfaced and enjoying my condition
To the music in my head I sat and listened

My my my writer's block remedy is Maker's Mark, Jameson Hennessey
Yes the sensation is heavenly when the ideas flow steadily
My my my writer's block remedy is bourbon and whiskey from Tennessee
Yes the sensation is heavenly

Wednesday around 9 olock at least this time it's dark
I pour myself another glass of Arak, hoping to reignite the spark
Fiending for gratification, to reach that state of flow
Accessing inspiration, lubricated mind and soul
I'm a millennial demanding the immediate
Lickety-split a hedonist, the booze is my ingredient
They say creative types tend to be eccentric deviants
They say my generation needs rewards to be expedient
What are we finding at the bottom of the bottle
Emboldened by the Lubavitcher Rebbe and some Aristotle
Taking back schnapps to help me rap it's so pathetic
But just like many others I use it to develop aesthetic
Committed to the craft and encouraged to break through
Sifting through riff raff cuz I know what I g-g-gotta do
Writer's Block remedy
