Message from Kishore

It's owing to the wealth, in which I happened to be dropped
I don't know any better and that I never stopped
At the thought that I've been lucky, being born in the western world
Where I really want for nothing and life hardly ever hurts.

Still there's something uneasy, that came lately over me
And for some time I'm not quite sure about the man I want to be

In my house, there's a carpet on the floor
That I bought for little money at an oriental store
And that is found to have a message from Kishore
Who says, that all the wrongs, he has to bear, lies at my door.

In all my western innocence, I was stupefied for long
Never being conscious of having done anything wrong
Hadn't I a clear conscience, respecting others as myself
Granting it ain't hard to do in this small world of wealth

Now I'm faced with the reality of the using of the poor
And I'll never enjoy the traps I own as I ever did before

In my house, there's a carpet on the floor
That I bought for little money at an oriental store
And that is found to have a message from Kishore
Who says, that all the wrongs, he has to bear, lies at my door.
