Sound of Laughter

In the middle of the night
While the air was warm and dry
And my heart was hollow
In the heated summertime
While the world fought for the rise
Of what was to follow
I was running out of time
Doing what I could to try
To ease my sorrow

But then to the sound of laughter
The moon fell to the ground

I was moving out of sight
Further away from the light
The streets were dark and narrow

Came and lit up the dark
That made me stop and shiver
