Intro/Right and Wrong

Here's to another couple years we lost while we were counting up the cost
And I don't know if it is worth it anymore
Every time they try to deny the facts, as if they had better tacts
Why don't we try to stop this bigotry

Most times they get their way. We needed change yesterday
Cast doubts to the wayside. I swear I won't abide
I wish we knew what to do

I wish there was a cause to these effects that pushed us far past the test
Come on, haven't we payed our own dues
I'm tired of wasting time when they were spreading lies
Chances are things will change long after I'm gone

They lead by their belief. All I ask for is relief
Intentions far from known. As they still condone
Every night I want what's right

Taking back what was ours
Who decides right and wrong

For a brief moment, I found myself in clarity
Where I realized that was nothing saving us
There was no redemption, and there was no way out
Right and wrong is a two way street
But it would be foolish to think that things could ever be so black and white
But I guess that was just our naivety coming to the forefront
And washing away any aspirations
