The Wanderer

Despite all the warnings I took to the currents and streams
To float what was left of my childhood memories and dreams

There's no sign of rain but the storm clouds they hang over head
They mock with their grumbles and tell me I soon will be dead

Yet I wander I wander still
To find the illusion of things that I know to be real

The waters don't flow like they used to, thats for sure
It happened so slowly like sunlight through a crack in the door

Stuck in the middle a canyon of shorelines surround
Upon this empty riverbed I walk upon this muddy ground

Yet I wander I wander still
Just to find the illusion of things that I know to be real
Yes I wander I wander free
Cause despite what they say I must be the man that I'll be

This journey has taken its toll
And just the shadow remains of the man that I used to know
But I wander, I wander still
With a hope that one day what I find is whats truly real
