Reno
He lived in Reno he loved casinos he wanted all of the money
I painted his portrait I painted it beautiful why did I do that
He painted a good lie I clung to the fantasy like I was important
But when he likes to smoke it and he likes to shoot it how can I be important
Maybe he don't really love me after all
I keep on making plans to see him then he just doesn't show
He blew balloons and he worked at the circus, it was going on all around him
He liked my poetry he heard my voice out of a million
He said you got an eyeball you got good character now where's your ambition
Because you got a price tag you got no sense at all what are you doing
We were never looking with our eyeballs
And we never tried to ascertain
Coulda gone to screaming certainly
Coulda gone a dozen different ways
What were you doing in the bathroom
I don't even wanna say it
Were you ever sincere
Or were your words just running out of your mouth and into my ear
Some part of your twisted tweaker head game
Why was I so eager
To play oh oh yeah
I gave him the canvas he painted the lie and I clung to the fantasy
He liked my poetry oh oh or so he said
But no matter what happened gotta give it to him for getting rid of my price tag
For me nobody has ever been able to do that
Maybe he does really love me after all
Oh he can't sing like me but he believes in me I make his heart beat a little more calm
I don't make plans to see him but whenever he calls me I come
He lived in Reno he loved casinos he wanted all of my money
I painted his portrait I painted it beautiful
I painted his portrait I painted it beautiful why did I do that
He painted a good lie I clung to the fantasy like I was important
