One Year

One year well have made it
Through any struggles that we're were dealing with
Through any difficulties
And I know
That it can be hard sometimes
But we have to remember
That these things don't last forever

One year I will look back on today
So clear but the memory will fade away
So dear to me my family
I can close my eyes and I
See everybody gathered round the table
Waiting for mama to serve us with her ladle
Some famous lentil soup to fill me to the brim
And she'll do it all over again and again for the
Kindness of her heart bleeds out into the world
Turning it to art generosity twirled
Out from her fingertips gently she spins with it
A blanket to cover any one that is cold
A sweater that she's woven right from pure gold
To drape over the old to lend a helping hand
She'll do all she can to gift the stars a brighter sun
She's the one and only she is my mom
