The Blind Race

We never know what lies ahead
We forget and leave behind
Never learn from the mistakes
Never know when to push the breaks

Since the first ray of light came across my eyes
I was trapped here, in this race of time
As I grew up, starting to wonder
Where do we come from, what purpose to follow
And we're all looking for that something
That would make us feel complete and fulfilled
And we fool ourselves, clinging to it
Thinking that's the purpose of our lives

But things that we cling to, can tear us apart
And those that we love, can break our heart
We try to be happy, but we lose it all
And I just want to feel again like a whole

A blind race to eternity
Can we be too blind to see
That we're changing every day
Part of a game we have to play

As my feet getting buried in the sands of time
A broken soul getting old, still blind
A vast, cold desert that dwells within
The emptiness inside that won't give in
Thoughts that come and go back again
A fire that's burning inside my head
Trying to get out of this state of mind
Looking for that path so hard to find

And even if I have more than before
They don't bring me joy anymore
I realized that happiness comes from inside
In that moment I felt that I'm no longer blind

A blind race to eternity
Can we be too blind to see
That we're changing every day
Part of a game we have to play
