Labyrinth of the Mind

Grow up and die in a blink of an eye as a mayfly.
The sooner we learn that the hours take turn to escape.
So we're begging for more but we
don't know what for when we have it all.
Life is brief and time is a thief so hard to please.
Throw our lives away every second awake.
Way down inside I know I got to go.
What lies beyond this world I'm dying to know.
And did you swim in the mainstream,
laugh and pretend?
Drowning in it's boredom as the years come to their end.
Glitter and haze, lost in a maze of illusions.
Forgotten is all that I can recall of the truth.
A world unaware and I ought to be there but I'm elsewhere.
Trapped in my mind at the end of the line and beyond.
