Lights

Taunted by the water shifting in the sand
Living like a martyr loyal to the land
I've heard of raging currents crashing on the shore
Swallowing the victims who dreamed for something more
I will not be persuaded by the tidal change
I've built my life a fortress sheltered from the waves

Oh the beaming lights
They're calling me to come escape into the night

The shower of the fountain, the treasures we have found
Are anchored to the mountain firm into the ground
Avoid the deeper water. The wonders that it holds
The lights are all illusions. Believe in what you're told
Resist the lure of purpose beyond what you have learned
The glowing light will blind you. Resist your primal urge

I can't continue in this life without a fight

A mesmerizing flame won't me let go

Living in the shallows, life is where I stand
Tempted by the water, protected by the land
