Line Dancing

Line Dancing

Never was much of a dancer I was born with two left feet
When the records play and the dancers sway I stay in my seat
Went downtown with a friend of mine where the country music plays
They were all in lines just a keeping time stepping the night away

The prettiest girl on the dance floor in a skintight buckskin suit
Was moving like a ballet dancer in high heel cowboy boots
She knew that I was looking cause I saw her wink an eye
Then she came across and said now's the time come on and give it a try

Look mamma I'm line dancing doing all
the moves and feeling fine I'm a line
Dancing having a real good time
Look mamma I'm line dancing though I never thought I'd see the sight
I'm line dancing now I wanna dance all night

She told me that her name was Lucile from the Kenny Rogers song
I told her mine was Billy Bob Joe
but she knew that I was putting her on
Then we jumped and stepped to the left
side then jumped and stepped to the right
Went round and round like a southern bound rolling through the night

Look mamma I'm line dancing doing all
the moves and feeling fine I'm a line
Dancing having a real good time
Look mamma I'm line dancing though I never thought I'd see the sight
I'm line dancing now I wanna dance all night

Figured that the night was over when they play the trilogy
They were shooting guns and my
eardrums were buzzing like a thousand bees
A guy named Johnnie Rondo shook my hand the cowboy way
Then Lucy gave my a big wet kiss now what more can I say

Look mamma I'm line dancing doing all
the moves and feeling fine I'm a line
Dancing having a real good time
Look mamma I'm line dancing though I never thought I'd see the sight
I'm line dancing now I wanna dance all night

I'm line dancing now I wanna dance all night
