Starship Trip

Way out in the ocean
The spaceship landed there was no commotion
Colored lights were flashing
Under the starry sky the waves were crashing
Reflections were dancing
The whales swam up to have a passing glance and
Dark shadows shapeshifting
But up ahead I saw the fog was lifting
And though haze I saw light
Like glowing gemstones floating in the night
I hoped I'd see you there
I know you follow shooting stars everywhere

With the surf in my face
And my mind out in space
As the ship drifted into sight
And it filled me with fright

But there was no need to be alarmed
Cause the visitors they meant me no harm
Yes it turned out to my surprise
That the aliens were really nice guys

I played a song to show the measure of my work
And the aliens were really down to earth
We played cards and smoked cigars
Way out there with the stars

The crystal ship a galactic trip
Stars whizz by and I wave goodbye
Colors flash in a light speed dash
Martians chill and we cruise until
We reach a place way out in space
Where the stars are born in a firestorm
And we all watched and we all danced
And we all drank scotch in a cosmic trance
And when it finally the night was through
The spaceship brought me back to you
