That Man

I'm sweating, hands shaking
Knees buckling from the need
Of one more hit before he slams the door
I'm an addict, hair matted
Calm from finally getting my fix
But tears roll down my cheeks soon as his feet him the floor

He's handsome, the kind that knows it
And not afraid to take
He gets what he wants, so confident, so sure
He hurts but god, I love it
He makes my skin quake
He could rip me apart and have me begging please for more

Let me have a taste, just breathe him in
I gotta have some of that same old sin

Time and time and over and over I swear
That I'll quit once I finally learn to stand
I've said it once and dare I say, I'll say it again
I'd be better off if it wasn't for that man

I'm not the first to fall in
Lord knows I'm not the last
His arms so strong to catch you when you trip
A good ole boy with manners
And hidden silent rage
With sugar sweet taste and an awful burning drip

They're telling me, "you're being used"
But I'll let him use me 'til my skin turns blue

Time and time and over and over I swear
That I'll quit once I finally learn to stand
I've said it once and dare I say, I'll say it again
I'd be better off if it wasn't for that man

I deny and I shake and shake my head
But I'd let him kill me and sure enough he can
Though I cry and I'm bleeding left for dead
Hard as I try I can't give up that man

Time and time and over and over I swear
That I'll quit once I finally learn to stand
I've said it once and dare I say, I'll say it again
I'd be better off if it wasn't for that man

I deny and I shake and shake my head
But I'd let him kill me and sure enough he can
Though I cry and I'm bleeding left for dead
Hard as I try I can't give up that man
