Wanderlust
Welcome to the wanderlust
You felt alone, now you're one of us
You don't need time to adjust
Just know, you are robust
Welcome to the wanderlust
You felt alone, now you're one of us
You don't need time to adjust
Just know, you are robust
Dust yourself off, and get back again
Book a show, pack it in
Rock a set until your voice is cracklin
It's all love from the crowd, no hasslin
No wrasslin', with my egos
Just havin' fun, me and my amigos
In a way we are our own heroes
Stackin' up B-rolls since we were niños
We used to watch Bob Barker's plinkos
Then I got his scrubs traded for my street clothes
But now I'm older and I set up my own shows
And I make hella flyers at my local Kinko's, and I know
Life is not a motion picture
But sometimes I pretend, to feel a little bigger
Like my eye is the lens, with every blink a flicker
Adding to my catalog of memories and mixture
Welcome to the wanderlust
You felt alone, now you're one of us
You don't need time to adjust
Just know, you are robust
Welcome to the wanderlust
You felt alone, now you're one of us
You don't need time to adjust
Just know, you are robust
Grew up in a place where I didn't fit in
I always had more space than I ever had friends
I laced up my baseball cleats
Youngest on the team 'cuz my dad coached in the league
And my two older brothers were on the same team then
Me for no other reason
Except for convenience
And no matter how hard I would play or shout
I always seemed to play left out
And school felt just like that
Especially after I was held back
In one place too old, and the other too young
I guess it made it hard for me to know anyone
But I could have looked deeper
Into myself and other people
But evil was part of the plan
To make us look outward instead of within
To make me look where I'm goin' or, where I've been
Instead of just focusing on who I am
I guess I'm always growin' from a boy to a man
I'm just glad I'm some place where people understand
Welcome to the wanderlust
You felt alone, now you're one of us
You don't need time to adjust
Just know, you are robust
Welcome to the wanderlust
You felt alone, now you're one of us
You don't need time to adjust
Just know, you are robust
I used to wanna be a doctor
So I could save lives and live proper
Then I wanted in the NBA
So my dad would have to watch me on the TV every Sunday
Next, I learned that my parents smoked pot
The day before school I was told that they should not
So, soon after givin' up Bert and Ernie
I got a law book and tried to be an attorney
And then I left 13 times in six years
To 9 different placements, each one with new fears
I helped my peers, to help myself I guess
And that's when I wanted to become a therapist
And I haven't been anything on this list
It'll be a long while 'til I deserve a good rest
But, more or less I am happy with myself
Even the bad, I wouldn't trade with someone else
Welcome to the wanderlust
You felt alone, now you're one of us
You don't need time to adjust
Just know, you are robust
Welcome to the wanderlust
You felt alone, now you're one of us
You don't need time to adjust
Just know, you are robust
You felt alone, now you're one of us
You don't need time to adjust
Just know, you are robust
Welcome to the wanderlust
