Montgomery Rose

Montgomery Rose
She was the tiniest thing
Oh, but when she opened her mouth
You should have heard her sing

She said: "Take me to the mountains
Make sure the cliffs are high
How could I have these golden wings
If I was not meant to fly?"
She said: "I'm going far away"
I'll be back by and by
How could I have these golden wings
If I was not meant to fly"

When everyone watched T.V.
She stayed upstairs and read
She said I don't want to watch movies
I'd like to live them instead

And fly she did
Til she went so very high
Sometimes the world don't recognize stars
Until they're arms length away
And dancing in a summer's sky

'Cause- sometimes when you're different
And you're not just like the rest
They think that you can't handle it
And that you'll never pass the test

She said: "Take me to the mountains
Make sure the cliffs are high
How could I have these golden wings
If I was not meant to fly?"
She said: "I'm going far away"
I'll be back by and by
How could I have these golden wings
If I was not meant to fly"
