Silhouette

something has changed in what is tied to my feet
this odd shaped silhouette doesn't belong to me
it shows me all the things I fear the most
while it's following me like a haunting ghost

the shadow I cast on this wall
doesn't look like me anymore
reflecting all the worst of me
a flickering entity

maybe it is time to make my peace
with who I love, but I don't believe that
anyone of them would recognize me
and after all I'll die a solitary creep

the shadow I cast on this wall
doesn't look like me anymore
reflecting all the worst of me
a flickering entity

break out of this shell - no doubts to dispel
avow the decease of yourself
break out of this shell - no doubts to dispel
say a toast to yourself and farewell

is there anyone to blame for puttin' me in this state?
reality, identity and dignity erased
all I want - one last request
cut out this heavy heart

the shadow I cast on this wall
doesn't look like me anymore
reflecting all the worst of me
a flickering entity

break out of this shell - say a toast to yourself and farewell
