I'm Not a Servant Anymore

'Twould seem a waste to any rich man
For the price He had to pay
Just a slave who offered nothing
But He bought me anyway
And this old house I live in
Well He purchased it too
And said you don't have to leave here
I'll be moving in with you

It's so different now since He's been here
There's love in every room
His presence warms this old drafty frame
And expels the cold dark gloom
And His light fills every crevice
Revealing treasures that He brings
And He assures there's more where that came from
He's freely given everything

He makes the light shine through the darkness
And the sunshine through the rain
Gives grace through every sorrow
And grace through all the pain
And He has broken all the shackles
Where sin had bound before
I've been adopted by His Father
I'm not a servant anymore

As I look out through these windows
Life remains the same out there
I set out with good intentions
But soon failure brings despair
And I cry out in my weakness
Then He gently lets me know
That's when His strength is perfect
And through His power I onward go

Now it all seems so wonderful
That I could never ask for more
Yet He tells me of better things
Man had never known before
With Him I'll reign forever
In that heavenly place
Where on display with others
I'll be a trophy of His grace

He makes the light shine through the darkness
And the sun shine through the rain
Gives grace through every sorrow
And grace through all the pain
And He has broken all the shackles
Where sin had bound before
I've been adopted by His Father
I'm not a servant anymore
