Mouth Full of Snow

We'll freeze, if we don't race
Woman cries out, she slows our pace
Sure you're getting thirsty, you bear a heavy load
Need a little water, fill your mouth with snow

We watched her stumbling, her swollen belly trembling, there's no denying that it's time
Listen woman, the men will leave you out here, you know you can't be left behind

The mystery of birth, they don't understand
See it in their eyes, heads hanging low
She screams, mouth full of snow

She delivered, started bleeding, tried to stop it with some snow
Couldn't save her, she stopped breathing, what's a simple man to know

The baby's cry gives the men a fright
An odd sound on a silent frozen night
Mercy isn't easy, the men already know
The best thing for that baby now, is a mouth full of snow

Little bundle, barely breathing, you don't deserve this cold
Precious spirit, quickly fleeting, we covered it with snow

So we roll, mouth full of snow
