My Man (God or Ghosts)

Back in time when I was a boy
Long before I became who I am
There was a woman, who took my hand
And guided me through life's challenges
And when I wake up in the morning
I will leave this recording
Full of verses and a chorus
So she can tap her foot and whisper
"My Man"

I formed my philosophy
Open minded honestly
Looked at stories logically, you know
I don't believe in God or ghosts

She told me to shake it off
She called me a firework
She even tried to take me to church, you know
You know I'm not going to go

The city of flowers is my home
I'm leaving now the world to roam
Where the path takes me? I don't know
I don't, I crave the experience

She does not want me to leave
Plagued by her unconscious dreams
And in her sleep, I die in their streets
I'm gonna go anyway. I'm gonna go anyway

Back in time when I was a boy
Long before I became who I am
There was a woman, who took my hand
And guided me through life's challenges
And when I wake up in the morning
I will leave this recording
Full of verses and a chorus
So she can tap her foot and whisper
"My Man"
