Young Adults

I was looking at the stars
And flashing lights from passing cars
Wondering if we'll ever go far
Gotta stop rhyming words with "-ars"
But I'm looking for a reason
Will we ever see them
Clapping with their hand and stomping with their feet
And baby will we ever see them
Lights followed by speakers

But that's just how some stories go
While some are friendly some are foes
We view the world under our nose
And can't look up from all our phones
I think we missed what life is for
Our generations such a bore
So when our kids ask what's in store
We'll just be scrolling through phones

Go out, look at the sun rising as a new day has begun (sayin)
Get out of your bed now and make experiences here don't frown (sayin)
Oh wow what've we done spending our lives looking at another one (sayin)
Go out just have fun, being young adults oh run son run

As I look back at the life I've found
I cannot seem to picture out
The highlights of my vida now
Forgetting how to live somehow
But we can twist our fates around
Forget about our drama wow
We get caught up in fake news now
Distracting us from real and foul

But that's just how some stories go
