Rome Didn't Fall in a Day

Things feel like they've gone askew
The train sure feels off the tracks
Doesn't mean it can't be fixed
Doesn't mean that there's no way back
The desire to fix things, not want to tear things apart
Takes a great deal of patience, a tremendous amount of heart

Rome didn't fall in a day
We've still got time if we take the time to change

Don't have to love one another or even have to like at all
But the one simple goal is to respect one another so we don't all fall
That's how all sorts of people can still pull it together, put aside all the hatred, perhaps survive together

Rome didn't fall in a day
We've still got time if we take the time to change
