Trails of Energy

I got to have faith in me
Before I do anything

Thinking that rap was a dream
Until I started making cream

Evolving faster yeah
While studying culture

Building toward the future
Collecting my chapters

Holding myself hostage
While paying homage

To the most high for the blessings
Bestowed upon us

I knew my time was coming
You know that zone you fall in

When you feeling good shining
Like the sun is living within

I took myself serious
Cause God was so serious

When I almost died damn right
I begged for forgiveness

And I pulled through
In that white light I seen you

Telling me
You got a plan for me to do

It gave me strength to see
Where I need to be

I never seen life that clear
Until it was stripped from me

And that's a big wake up
So get your weight up

Take the world off your shoulders
And gone get up and let's go

Life seems to manifest
Its own destiny
I'm just a element
Following trails of energy
I see the future
And where i'm supposed to be
I was guided on track
By those around me
I lost sight when I was young
The bad seed
Caught up in gang life
Drinking and smoking weed
Found peace
Learning more of my history
Changed my ways and actions
To balance reality

I wanted to be a scientist
In the third grade

The teacher notice
How much attention I will pay

Besides arithmetic
I was so truly amazed
At the display of planets

And how they rotate
With the Sun and gravitate

My growth got stunted
When Columbus came in place

Pilgrims and Indians
Pictured feasting everyday

Black kids only seen
In slavery aspects

Neglected history
Before our a Black President

We need to teach them
A higher education

Jail don't do nothing
But stagnate the situation

Money for wars
But no money for the poor

Who can endure life thru struggle
We need so much more

My mama held me down
During hard times

Told me how I'm destined to shine
If I stayed on my grind

That's why i'm so focused
Cause life is not joking

People growing old
And ain't holding on to nothing

Life seems to manifest
Its own destiny
I'm just a element
Following Trails of Energy
I see the future
And where i'm supposed to be
I was guided on track
By those around me
I lost sight when I was young
The bad seed
Caught up in gang life
Drinking and smoking weed
Found peace
Learning more of my history
Changed my ways and actions
To balance reality

I knew I make it
Only if I try hard

Believing in God was a start
But things do fall apart

Pick the pieces up
And maintain your energy

Vocalise reality
Who can see it better than me

My mind sharp
With the ancient riddles
Just like a puzzle

Bringing knowledge and wisdom
Right at ya on the double

So I got to have that
Cause it's bigger than rap

The first step is getting the facts
And learning how to fight back

Giving all you got to give
When the time calls for it

Don't fall back on yourself
Just put your all in it

Guaranteed you gonna see
A new chemistry

You might shock yourself
By what you can do spiritually

I seen neglected adolescents
Change they ways

For a better day
They was tired of the games
They played

Wanting to be a better man
With some understanding

They took a chance now they dance
With a new vision

Life seems to manifest
Its own destiny
I'm just a element
Following trails of energy
I see the future
And where i'm supposed to be
I was guided on track
By those around me
I lost sight when I was young
The bad seed
Caught up in gang life
Drinking and smoking weed
Found peace
Learning more of my history
Changed my ways and actions
To balance reality

Life seems to manifest
Its own destiny
I'm just a element
Following trails of energy
I see the future
And where i'm supposed to be
I was guided on track
By those around me
I lost sight when I was young
The bad seed
Caught up in gang life
Drinking and smoking weed
Found peace
Learning more of my history
Changed my ways and actions
To balance reality
