Fashioning Flares

What goes sideways downward spirals, without rival, without charm
Sketch intentions, paint by numbers, float through borders safe from harm
The policy collapsed. When cornered, it's the best time to launch an attack

I'll signal help by fashioning a flare from all those arrows hastily shot that left nothing spared
Carnage camouflaged in poisonous air. Abandonment thought reckless, still, what's left is somewhat fair

Luck abated, satiated, fortune played to a scoreless draw
Rumours heard construct their hurdles, serve to murder. Fatal flaw
The window candle's light tells me tonight's just as good as any night

The journey soured, I'm sure it doesn't matter
Those nonsense hours, I'm sure they do not matter
Use fires of hell to cauterize contusion. Your favourite tune has reached its sad conclusion
