Ennui

Reaching new heights with this lead soul
Taken aback by the aether's glow
Eternal presence of endless endings
Begin to question the time I'm spending

I move like the wind
While traveling to the edges of my narrow id
And trying to decide
Decide where I reside in this room I'm in
I'm giving in

I cannot say I've given up; I've given into the current
The ebb and flow, the end of motion, the things that were and weren't

At the top of the mountain where the earth becomes the sky
The beauty below me is nothing to my eyes

As a valley dweller, do I belong at the peak?
Snow of the summit clings to my feet
I can no longer feel the ground underneath

Made cold by a journey without respite
Numb to the nothingness assuming my life
