She Sleeps

It's not surprise
She sleeps with glossy eyes
This queen of desperation
Hopeful of distant dreams
And so she sleeps away
Her dull reality
Dreaming of better days
Another soul has been taken
A vessel broken and vacant

Another beautiful mind
Lost to the sands of time

She stands on broken legs
In a sea of broken glass
With the ebb and flow of time
All fades and washes away

She flies with broken wings
To the hands of loving kinds
With a shattered voice she cries
"God help me!"

And so she sleeps

The second hand ticks
Endlessly
Graciously
Her skin gives way to dust

It's not surprise
She sleeps with glossy eyes
This queen of desperation
Hopeful of distant dreams
And so she sleeps away
Her dull reality
Dreaming of better days
Another soul has been taken
A vessel broken and vacant

She stands on broken legs
In a sea of broken glass
With the ebb and flow of time
All fades and washes away

She flies with broken wings
To the hands of loving kinds
With a shattered voice she cries
"God help me!"

If we could turn back the days
And give her the better way that she deserves
Believe me, we had the choice
But we squandered it with our ignorance and neglect
Please don't take her away
Wake her from this slumber
Open your eyes and see the world in colour
It's beauty, and it's vibrance
You're welcome here
You're home

She stands on broken legs
In a sea of broken glass
With the ebb and flow of time
All fades and washes away

She flies with broken wings
To the hands of loving kinds
With a shattered voice she cries
"God help me!"
