Just Because you don't think it's gonna affect you
Doesn't mean that it won't or that it's going to
Someday the whales will stop to sing and then what will we do

I was playing on the beach waiting for a wave
Trying to figure out just how they could be saved
The ocean is so close to me but yet so far away
Is it just the giver of life or a watery grave

I was sleeping on the couch watching the TV
My friends were all sitting around laughing at me
The scariest thing I ever saw a floating factory
Harpooned and canned a whale while I could hardly breathe

I was floating on a boat sailing towards a star
Thinking about you all the time wondering where you are
The prettiest thing I ever saw smiling back at me
While we were just swimming around living wild and free

There comes a time in all our lives when we must make it right
There isn't any time for games or curling up with fright
I don't want to hear no or maybe or even that you might
Even when all our problems seem so out of sight
