Empty Transience (Limbo)

In the dwelling of my pathfinder I
Find I have crossed the dark river of woe
This place where pagans go after they die
Is where long ago happened Hell's Harrow
Then I soon come unto a flaming brook
Around a castle of seven large gates
The wisest of antiquity do look
Upon me while enduring their doomed fates
Next the Romans and the Caesar show face
That armor, falcon eyed, caused no mistake
Although here in this deficient disgrace
I saw that their glory would never shake
What lacks is hope and one much greater than
That which rational minds can never lend
I've been living in limbo this whole time
For life had been unkind and one of crime
Now is the chanting and then the silence
Here in this place of empty transience
The silence becomes all I am
