Monologue - Live At The Sands, Las Vegas/1961

Good morning folk
Sure is early
I don't understand how you people can stay up
Until eight or nine in the morning in this town, I just don't understand it at all
Ah, we welcome you to The Sands
And hope that you are having a nice evening, as I would
Ah, let me see now
Uhm, like to have you meet these people behind me
It will take about an hour and half to meet 'em all
So eh, we'll get to it right away, right?

My piano player, Mr Bill Miller, from Burbank, California
And ah, Charly Mustache up here
And Tony Emoreli, and probably the greatest man in America today
In any club, anywhere, please Tony

How long does it take before he stop shaking?
Jesus Christ, oh boy
I'm not joking either
You try spending an evening with Joey Lewis
And find out what happens to you
I had him until about seven o'clock this morning
He was so drunk I could hardly see him about five

You know what he says
"Show me a man who can hold his liquor
And I'll show you a bum with a bad kidney"
Jeez, boy I feel off the wagon with a boom bang last night, didn't I?
I woke up this morning, my hair hurt
What you got Tony, you wanna surprise me?
