Prologos: Invocation to Death

Long ago, beneath the gods of Olympus
Beneath the mortal realm
Where the chain of balance comes to an end
There was the underworld and, at its heart
The god Hades and his unwilling bride, Persephone
There, amongst darkness and death, his power was limitless
But Persephone sought this power for herself
By pledging eternal loyalty to Zeus, king of the gods
She was granted the blade of Olympus, which she used
To impale the dark heart of Hades and steal his monstrous power
However, as the goddess of the underworld
She remained incomplete, alone
And so she began to search for a mortal she could transform into a god
One who would conform to her every command
One who wished for death
