Sky Burial

The birds already circling
My body lies on the rocks
A sharp knife starts working
It clinks carving my corpse
It cuts the body into pieces
And separate flesh from the bones
For the vultures it will be delicious
My remains among the stones

My bones ground into powder
When all the flesh is eaten up
All that is left of me is chowder
Birds peck it out of the cup

This life is done
But I don't need compassion
My spirit is gone
My body is now just an empty vessel

I dispose of it generously
Providing food for the living beings
It is alms for them from me
My redemption for all my sins

We live our lives to be reborn
It's an endless circle
My body dies, but the soul
Becomes immortal

Our lives are evanescent
I'm leaving without regrets
Without beginning and without end
A sequence of births and deaths
My soul will find a new abode
And new heart will beat in the chest
And at the end of the road
Finally I will find rest

This life is done
But I don't need compassion
My spirit is gone
My body is now just an empty vessel

I dispose of it generously
Providing food for the living beings
It is alms for them from me
My redemption for all my sins

We live our lives to be reborn
It's an endless circle
My body dies, but the soul
Becomes immortal

We live our lives to be reborn
It's an endless circle
My body dies, but the soul
Becomes immortal
