Crimson

I feel like I'm falling into the wrong hands, or I'm just over sleeping
And the city is so desperate, it's pulling me down
I've seen these streets start sinking
It's getting tough to make it clear and show the world who I'm defeating
Place two fingers on my neck to make sure that my heart is still beating
I've never been straightforward
But I think it's clear to see that putting trust into a liar made a liar out of me
Tell me someone is listening if not I guess they're missing out
It's easier to stay and wait than to make a plan and play it out
If falling asleep is comfortable then wake me up I'd like to feel alive
I'm counting the minutes as they pass by
As if I'm moving forward
Surrounded by stories I need to let go or else I'll sit here cornered
Have I become that old man in the food court that I'd always see
Because all his friends are dead and gone but all my friends are dead to me
It's funny how it ends sometimes you look back on a lifelong fight
So go and say the words, we'll watch the Anti-Hero die tonight
And so I'm trying
See that I've been trying hard but growing up and letting go
Is possibly the hardest pain a kid like me could ever know
If falling asleep is comfortable then wake me up I'd like to feel alive
And so I'm finally trying
Now don't be sad it's over just you be grateful that it happened
That automated answer never worked as recommended
And as I hit two decades old I look around and see I'm almost there
But no one is there for me
And just like any game show but without the promised prizes
I'll live my life in segments, just subtracting advertisements
And I know now, it's never been about the I in Team
But you'll never make it anywhere if no one is ever listening
So tell me someone is out there
If not I guess I am missing out
It's easier to stay and wait and let your plan fill up with doubt
If falling asleep is comfortable then falling apart is where I'm at now
But I've been trying to make you see
And if I'm moving on I won't need you behind me anymore
I feel like I've fallen into the wrong hands
