Rasta Jack

Rasta Jack was trying to tackle a task, too heavy for him to lift
So, Jill stepped in to help Jack pull the water up more swift
The pail of water dropped back in the well from which it came
Then Rasta Jack fell backwards down the hill, and Jill tumbled just the same

Sometimes we just need a hand to help, or one to hold
Sometimes we just need someone to lift our spirit bold

Rasta Jack embarrassed by the fall, bruised his self-esteem
Jill told Jack, it wasn't his fault, "Just brush yourself off clean"
Rasta Jack then helped Jill on her feet, as they both had a good laugh
Then up the hill they went again, each with their better half

Sometimes we just need a hand to help, or one to hold
Sometimes we just need someone to lift our spirit bold

When Rasta Jack and Jill had reached the top, they smiled and they gave thanks
Before they grabbed the rope once more, they gathered up their strength
They tugged and pulled together with their might, in unison they pulled
They pulled together knowing that their pail, it would be full

Sometimes we just need a hand to help, or one to hold
Sometimes we just need someone to lift our spirit bold
Sometimes we just need a hand to help, or one to hold
Sometimes we just need someone to lift our spirit bold
