Song of the Moon

It's happening again, now I'm lost
But the moon, it shines so bright
And softens the night sky
It's all right

The shining of the moon is all I can see
Forgive me now, I'm blinded by the light
Shadows walk
And the earth fades to black
But the oceans await the coming of dawn

Come closer now
I've a story to tell you
Once when the mountains and trees were young
Our future was always there
Just locked away in white fire

Long ago we couldn't see so far ahead
But we still saw the hope
Bleeding out of our hands
Now for us, time stands still
From our lonely minds
Jealousy and hope have washed away all we know

It's happening again
Right now
We're fighting the answers
Pushing our way through reluctant skies
Our memories have gone

The song of the moon is all I can hear
But then there comes a whisper from the dark
So now I've nothing left to give you
Guess that's the price of the unknown
And the pattern of the night keeps rumbling on
