Roll Away the Stone
Early Sunday morning on their way to the grave
Where Joseph laid the body of The Life, The Truth, The Way
They carried spices and perfume to anoint his body
Their hearts were heavy and their arms were full, and wondered
Who would roll away the stone?
But when they got there, you know they found an empty tomb
The grave was empty and the cloth was there but there was no body in the room
Mary was surprised when she turned around to see the gardener, and so she asked him
"Mister can you tell me where they've taken my Lord? And tell me
Who rolled away the stone?"
He can roll away the stone (He can roll away the stone)
He can roll away the stone (He can roll away the stone)
He can roll away the stone that's before the grave (He can roll away the stone)
You may not think that there is life in the tomb behind it
But He can roll away the stone
Jesus on the road to visit friends that He loved
Everybody thought that He had taken His time about it
They told him that his friend had died just before He got there
That it was too late to do any good
He felt the anguish that was in their hearts
And told them "You've got to roll away the stone"
Where Joseph laid the body of The Life, The Truth, The Way
They carried spices and perfume to anoint his body
Their hearts were heavy and their arms were full, and wondered
Who would roll away the stone?
But when they got there, you know they found an empty tomb
The grave was empty and the cloth was there but there was no body in the room

He can roll away the stone (He can roll away the stone)
He can roll away the stone (He can roll away the stone)
He can roll away the stone that's before the grave (He can roll away the stone)
You may not think that there is life in the tomb behind it
But He can roll away the stone

Everybody thought that He had taken His time about it

And told them "You've got to roll away the stone"
