Ball & Chain

Held down with a ball and chain, controls my mind and it tugs on my veins
My life can be seen through a lens coloured blue
I'm caught up in a loop I'm just trying to get through
My spontaneity's been taken from me
Everything's been locked down and there's no key
I've got a head full of thoughts but now thinking's a sin
There's no end in sight, nothing new can begin
Trying to pull through but I keep falling down
If I don't get out soon then I might as well drown

Same old, same old everyday, this burden's not something that can be weighed
Trapped in a life that's going nowhere but giving it up is more than I can spare
Chained to a future that's more of the same
And there's no one but me that can take all the blame
Nothing to do except try and stay afloat

But I'm a sinking boat
I can feel it getting heavier
The weight is getting harder to hold
It's a disease and I'm the carrier

Business as per usual, the man's got the world so delusional
What you see and what you get, the difference between lottery and debt
My body's being pulled in two different ways, fantasy world versus reality daze

In my blue lens, I guess I'm here all alone

Only a matter of time til the world is a ghost town
