Well this is not a charity, this is a Tuesday
And he's not trynna get in anybody else's way
He just needs a bit of help to find his
And you can change the course of his night for a couple of quid
You might not change the course that his life is on
But you got no idea what kind of cards he's drawn
And is it really gonna break the bank
And aren't the banks already broken
If there are so many people in this city that are homeless

So give a little, give a lot, give some of what you got
Don't have to give it all but just don't give up

Well I'm singing to myself as much as anybody else
You won't believe the amount of times that I have just walked past
And averted my eyes through fear or embarrassment
My pockets are jingling as I walk off down the high street
The world's busy anyway, staring at their little lives
They won't even notice if we turn up in the dead of night
And ransacked the ballroom, peeked behind the curtains
Cause don't you sometimes wonder how the whole thing's working
Well, don't shoot the messenger, who tells you that its not
It's as broke as the empty pockets of that bloke
I walk pass everyday on my way to work
And I always catch his eye and always pretend I don't
Because deep down inside I like to think I might be humble
Tell a lot about society by how they treat, their most vulnerable
