Embarcadero

I wake to see the ocean
See Black mold but overlook it
This place is too charming
For me to continue sulking
No need to stay docile
When even your grandmother's warm smile
Keeps me in line with
What's important to mind

Like fireworks in the day
Still find good things to my dismay
I just have to stop looking away

Breathe the air in your portrait
See grandchildren and your cousins
Division is math not misfortune
When you're primarily acknowledged
Embarcadero lined freely
Warm coffee while it's windy
Have a place to look twice
At what surrounds my misgivings

Like fireworks in the day
Still find good things to my dismay
I just have to stop looking away

Pull out couch in the living room
Heater on the fritz but It's still warm
Diner's closed but there's a drive thru
Handle with Care plays on the radio
Band together when you're tearful
Share forgetting by the year full
Breed a ritual through habit
See what you want less imagined
